January 28 is Global Community Engagement Day – a day when people across the globe celebrate community efforts to work together to make the world a better place.
NIU is a regional university with deep ties to the community – here in DeKalb, in the northern Illinois region and across the world. Community engagement enriches teaching, research and artistry. It promotes the public good. It helps us unite our knowledge and resources to make a positive difference. And we think that’s worth celebrating!
When we saw that Global Community Engagement Day was coming up, we couldn’t miss the chance to celebrate together.
Stop by our table at the Holmes Student Center January 29 through February 1 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to learn how you can engage with your community, receive a free “I engage” pin and a chance to win a prize!
